In this blog post we simply have to tell you about the funniest theater comedy Cologne troupe in town! Are we biased? Absolutely! Because anyone who has seen a Mission Colonia show once will definitely become a regular visitor!
The girls
May we introduce? The queens of comedy! Forget all the names that are floating around in your head, unless they are the following: Anne Rothäuser, Sonja Kling, Kristina Kruttke and Beate Bohr! You can not only admire three of the girls on stage in Mission Colonia's fast-paced, self-developed pieces, but also get to know them up close afterwards - and notice how wonderfully unpretentious the artists are! Where do the performances take place? Usually either in the Treuen Husaren clubhouse or in the Gilden im Zims , which we also regularly visit on our tours!
Fast-paced is one of the words that best describes all of the productions. In a mix of reading and acting, comedy and history, with comic elements and vocal interludes to sing along to and sway to, the audience is drawn into a whirlpool of the best entertainment, where even after two acts you feel like there could easily be three more as an encore! In addition to a multitude of compliments, the exceptional talents are regularly rewarded with thunderous applause, gifts of flowers and a lively atmosphere! And rightly so!
The Ursula Conspiracy
The piece that has probably been running the longest in the program is about our city's patron saint Ursula, or as we call her: Uschi! Uschi and her friends, who basically invented the hen party, are also always mentioned on our tours. But we have to say that when it comes to how perfectly the girls from Mission Colonia implement the Ursula legend in their performance, no one can hold a candle to them!
The Cologne Witch
Another very interesting part of Cologne's history dates back to the time of witch burnings. And in Cologne we have a strong woman who deserves special mention: Katharina Henot, a postmistress. Everyone knows that women in high positions were often exposed to envy and rejection. This was Katharina's downfall. But the girls from Mission Colonia have created a crazy and entertaining comedy-crime construct around the story of Henot and her descendant that is unparalleled!
The Kölsch Diploma
How nice would it be to be able to compare the different types of Kölsch directly. Isn't that possible? Yes, it is! And once again thanks to our imaginative ladies from Mission Colonia. And so that we don't just drink something, but also learn something, the turbulent girls quickly give us a comedic introduction to the history of how our favorite product came about! What Anne, Sonja, Kristina and Beate put together is truly worth its weight in gold! From conception to execution, every production is an absolute hit. And of course we don't want to forget the great man in the background. Dickus is part of the girls' inventory; no one else could light them up so beautifully or fill the audience with sound. Even if the young (at heart) girls don't need any special lighting to make them shine. They all do it all by themselves with their stunning charisma!
